Another step closer to net zero
February 2025
We’re delighted to announce that we have achieved our Neutral Carbon Zone (NCZ) Gold Certification and have committed to achieving NCZ Platinum certification during 2025 whilst utilising their Carbon Management Programme.
Measuring of Our Emissions
As part of our Gold Certification, all our organisational and operational emissions have undergone an independent assessment to ISO 14064 standards, covering scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions. This has included everything integral to our business such as emissions related to our energy consumption, company vehicles, staff commuting, and purchased goods and services.
We’re now working towards achieving our NCZ Platinum Certification which will mean the same rigorous reporting criteria but also extending it to our supply chain. Understanding the emissions of our supply chain will not only help shape our strategic thinking in terms of how we can reduce our emissions, but it will also inform our decision-making process as part of our ongoing supplier due diligence.
Carbon Management Programme
As part of our work with NCZ, we are also utilising their carbon management programme which means completing annual Life Cycle Assessments to establish the specific impact of our cleaning service delivery. This will enable us to deliver a carbon neutral cleaning service to all our clients within the next 3 years and provide bespoke reporting of our carbon footprint per site.
Carbon Reduction Plan
We’re currently utilising the data collated from our organisational and operational carbon footprints, to produce a PPN 06/21 Compliant Carbon Reduction Plan which will enable us to set our net zero targets and track progress on an annual basis. By having full eyesight of our carbon footprint, we will be able to strategically reduce our emissions.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Our work with NCZ demonstrates clearly our commitment to minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices throughout our business operations. We’re thrilled with the steps we’ve made and look forward to seeing our emissions come down as we continually search for more sustainable ways to run Kindred.
